ISE-Elsevier Prize for Green Electrochemistry


Description
The ISE-Elsevier Prize for Green Electrochemistry may be awarded annually in recognition of younger scientist achievements in the field of environmental electrochemistry. It may be awarded annually to a candidates meeting the age eligibility condition according to ISE-Elsevier Prize for Green Electrochemistry rules.

Rules for the ISE-Elsevier Prize for Green Electrochemistry

SUBMISSION OF AWARD APPLICATION: All correspondence, whether by mail or email and including that for awards joint between ISE and other societies, should be sent to the ISE Office. Unsuccessful candidates can re-apply in a subsequent year, provided that they still meet the age requirements.

The ISE-Elsevier Prize for Environmental Electrochemistry may be awarded annually to a scientist of less than 35 years of age on January 1st of the year of the award, for recent application-oriented achievements in the field of environmental electrochemistry. The age limit may be extended, upon request of the applicant, for example due to formal period(s) of maternal, paternal or adoptive leave, compulsory leave for civil or military service, illness or other exceptional circumstances. The applicant is asked to provide evidence in support of their extension request. This evidence has to be submitted as a part of the curriculum vitae. Each application for extension will be considered individually by the award committee.

The prize consists of a certificate and the sum of 2000 EURO, inclusive of a contribution towards travel expenses for the winner to attend the ISE Meeting where the award will be presented.

Candidates must be ISE members in good standing and should apply on their own behalf.

The application should consist of the following items: a curriculum vitae, a publication record, a maximum of five of the most relevant publications and a statement by a senior electrochemist concerning the scientific contribution of the candidate to any joint publications. The application should be uploaded via the Submission Site. All documents uploaded must be in PDF format.

The prize winner is selected by committee chaired by a distinguished scientist active in the field of environmental electrochemistry, appointed by the Executive Committee of ISE, and consisting of the Chairpersons of ISE Divisions 1, 3 and 5 and an additional member appointed by the Executive Committee.

The prize is presented to the recipient at the Awards Session of the Annual ISE Meeting in the following year. The winner is expected to give a 20-minute lecture at a symposium of this Annual Meeting. ISE will pay for his/her registration and banquet fees.
